Stanford Medicine Receives Top Honors in Quality and Safety from Vizient

Stanford Medicine has been ranked No. 8 for inpatient care out of 93 peer academic medical centers (AMCs) by Vizient, the nation’s leading health care performance improvement company that measures overall safety and quality in patient care. Additionally, Stanford Medicine ranked No. 3 out of 50 peer AMCs in ambulatory care.

In the past three years, Stanford has quickly risen from No. 71 on the list in 2017 to No. 12 last year and is now firmly among the top ten hospitals―making this is a particularly impressive accomplishment in such a short period of time.

In recognition of these achievements in care quality and safety, Vizient presented Stanford Medicine with two awards that were jointly accepted by David Entwistle and Dean Lloyd Minor, M.D., on September 19 during the 2019 Vizient Connections Education Summit.
