The PPE Portrait Project is an art intervention designed to improve COVID-19 care. This project seeks to ameliorate the alienating appearance of the PPE suits with headshot portraits of the health care workers inside.
As a researcher who has studied the role of compassion in medicine, Cati Brown-Johnson, PhD, thought patients would feel more at ease if they could see the faces of the people treating them. UHA Drive-Thru clinics around the Bay Area have put this into practice when screening and treating our patients.
