Inpatient Liver Transplant Program expanding to Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare

Stanford Health Care is pleased to announce the opening of a Liver Inpatient Program at the Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare Pleasanton campus.  This program brings the expertise of Stanford Medicine Hepatology Specialists who will substantially expand the breadth and depth of care of liver disease to the Pleasanton community.  Stanford Faculty from the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology will work closely with ValleyCare Physicians Associates and community gastroenterologists as well as Stanford Hospital Medicine faculty physicians.

The initial phase of the program will begin on July 5th and will include four inpatient beds dedicated to care for patients with advanced liver disease including cirrhosis and liver failure.  We will also be providing additional consult services for all of Stanford Health Care – ValleyCare inpatients.  The addition of these beds will allow patients who are in the earlier stage of their care journey to be treated in their community.  As they progress, patients will be transferred to Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto as needed.

Our vision for the future is to build a center of excellence in liver disease which will provide the entire care continuum from early to end stage liver disease for patients in East Bay.
