April Edition of Dean Loyd Minor’s The Brief

Message from Dean Minor

Dear Colleagues,

While many around the world observed a holiday weekend, in Sri Lanka hundreds were murdered at tourist hotels and in Roman Catholic churches during Easter mass. On a day that for many represents hope and renewal, we saw death and destruction.

I believe that this is not just an attack on a single country or religion, but an attack on humanity.

I reassert my unwavering commitment to peace and inclusion among our neighbors — here at Stanford, across the United States, and around the globe. Collectively, we at Stanford Medicine stand with the people of Sri Lanka and those across the world who were impacted by this senseless violence, especially the wounded and grieving. Let us come together to offer comfort and support to all in our community who have been hurt by this tragedy.
